The Science behind our Mild Compression Socks, how do they work?
So how do compression socks work? The blood in your veins has to work against gravity to flow back to your heart, so our socks work by applying a gradual pressure starting in the feet and working up the leg. The pressure in the feet is slightly more than that in the leg, and as you work your way up, the pressure gradually decreases as it reaches the top of the sock. By performing this action, the socks add pressure to the surface arteries and veins, and its this action that helps the vein valves to function properly and the blood to flow back to your heart efficiently, giving your legs a natural health boost...
Will they work for me?
The socks will certainly be a benefit to many different people, from those who spend all day on their feet, such as Doctors or Nurses, to people who spend long periods of time inactive or sitting. Other groups that can also benefit from wearing compression socks include people with varicose or spider veins, heavy or aching legs or leg swelling (oedema), as well as those with circulatory problems.
